Casting the Opening and Closing Ceremonies is a hugely complex process as almost every volunteer will have their own specific schedule of rehearsals. The Ceremonies are divided into a number of scenes which all rehearse on different days, and only after having met you at auditions can we decide which scenes will suit you best. However, there are a number of guidelines that we hope will help you understand what sort of commitment you’re volunteering for:

From 28^th May – 10^th June we will be running rehearsals from Tuesday – Sundays. On week days the sessions will be in the evening, and on weekends the sessions will be in the mornings and afternoons. We will be asking you to come to a maximum of 2/3 of those sessions per week. Mondays will always be the day off, and we will always work to try and accommodate your own work and home commitments as you join our process.

From 11^th June – 28^th July we move to the stadium. The pace will pick up now, and we might ask you to commit to 3 sessions per week. In addition, you would definitely need to be available for our Mass Rehearsals which will be double session days, ie, morning and afternoon, or afternoon and evening. These are as follows:

Thursday 28^th July OPENING CEREMONY

Closing Ceremony rehearsals will run from 14^th June with a commitment of 1 / 2 sessions per week (same times of day as above) with a more intensive final week w/c 1^st August when the rehearsals increase to 2 / 3 sessions + the following:
