The  purpose of accreditation is to identify and register everyone involved in the staging of the Games and the Ceremonies, and allow them necessary access to perform their roles. Accreditation ensures that only eligible people are able to access Ceremony  venues including Alexander Stadium and participate in official Games and Ceremonies activities. 

The end result of the accreditation process is the issue of a Birmingham 2022 Commmonwealth Games Accreditation Pass which identifies the holder and visually displays the specific access rights needed to perform their roles.
