Both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies will be performed at Birmingham’s redeveloped Alexander Stadium to live audiences of up to 40,000. In addition, hundreds of millions of people will be watching the Ceremonies on television across the world.

The Opening Ceremony will take place on Thursday 28 July 2022.

The Ceremony will be in the evening, the exact start and end times are tbc.

All members are your choir must be aged 16 years or over on 1 March 2022. If your choir consists of members aged 16-17, there must be a proportionate number of members (at least one per twelve) aged 18+ to take responsibility for their welfare. 

The application deadline is 23:59 GMT on Monday 7 February 2022.
