The car park and play area will be closed and not accessible from Monday 1 November 2021. As
part of the enabling and construction works, the car park will be repurposed, and the play area
will be removed in order to accommodate the temporary Transport Malls.

After the Commonwealth Games, the Transport Mall site will be returned to parkland (known as
the ‘reinstatement works’). Following extensive recent consultation undertaken for the emerging
Perry Barr 2040 Masterplan, and as a result of feedback received, the final masterplan will
include a section on how facilities can be enhanced in Perry Park in the years after the Games,
beyond what was there beforehand. When the final PB2040 Masterplan is available, it will be
shared with the local community and key stakeholders.
